Malvern, PA, December 17, 2012 – BuLogics, Inc., Board of Directors announced a key change in the company’s leadership team, appointing Felicite Moorman, Esq., as Chief Executive Officer of BuLogics. In addition, Mirka Walczak, who had served as the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since the company’s inception in 2003, will remain Chairman of the Board. Both new roles are effective immediately.
Ms. Moorman joined BuLogics in March 2012 as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. “In building BuLogics this past decade, we were always looking to identify major influencers and talent in our rapidly growing industry,” said Ms. Walczak. “Felicite Moorman’s reputation caught our attention, and we were pleased that she joined us early this year. Hitting the ground running, she made significant contributions in building our strategic vision. I was thrilled to see her demonstrate a calculated understanding of our business as she adjusted our model to create exponential scalability of the technology. Moreover, her personal relationships within the team at BuLogics have blossomed and I have the greatest confidence as she steps into the role of CEO to fully execute on that vision and plan with the support of the entire organization and Advisory Board.”
Prior to joining BuLogics, Moorman worked within GE Licensee Jasco Products’ Emerging Technologies Division. Previously, she served as managing member of SolFin, a real estate venture holding numerous service companies, where she orchestrated the start-up and successful growth from zero to $1.5 billion in transactional volume in less than five years.
Moorman received her juris doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2002, where she received their inaugural Law Leadership Scholarship. She is a Founder of The Golding Group, a national business strategy think tank, a Committee Member of the Delaware Valley Green Build Council, and a Mentor at technology accelerator Blueprint for Business.
Under Walczak’s leadership, BuLogics led the industry with several firsts, including the first Z-Wave to ZigBee bridging technologies, Z-Wave OTA updating, and OpenADR utility installations. BuLogics wireless embedded code is present in over 1 million consumer units in the marketplace. BuLogics was also an integral technology lead in the unprecedented 65,000 mode installation at the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, whose model continues to be a growing go-to solution in the hospitality industry today. Additionally, Walczak accepted the Greenworks Pilot Energy Technology Program grant of $175,000 on behalf of BuLogics to fund their pilot foray into industrial automation at Philadelphia innovation showpiece, The Navy Yard and at the Inn at Penn Hilton Hotel in Philadelphia.
“Over the past nine years, I have watched as Mirka guided and built this enterprise from its early start up days into an organization that fosters both a sense of technological creativity, but an entity with a strong sense of financial discipline,” said Robert Zdancewicz. ”In that time, the business transformed into one of the leading developers of wireless products and built a newly established unit to address the commercial market. On behalf of the entire Advisory Board, I would like to thank her for her devotion to the business and we remain optimistic for the future of the company with her as Chairman.”
